Kanamoto Group's Response to Recent Natural Disasters

The Kanamoto Group has marshalled its total capabilities and will continue to assist disaster-stricken regions such as Tohoku and Kumamoto.

Progress on reconstruction and revitalization underway in disaster-stricken regions

Seven years have passed since the occurrence of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Following the “Concentrated Revival Period” through FY2015, we are now nearing the halfway mark of the “Reconstruction and Revitalization Period”, the overall completion period for reconstruction. In the disaster-stricken region, work is progressing on the restoration of towns, including public housing for disaster-affected individuals and Collective Relocation Disaster Prevention Promotion Projects (relocation to higher ground), and on full-scale infrastructure reconstruction, beginning with transportation networks including reconstruction roads, reconstruction support roads, and railways. Work on the “reconstruction to create a local revitalization model” as laid out by the central government is steadily moving forward as well.
In addition, by strengthening cooperation among Kanamoto Group firms and implementing measures such as centralized positioning of management resources, we have created an ongoing support organization to respond to the Kumamoto Earthquake that struck in 2016 and to the typhoon and torrential rainfall disasters that occurred that same year and in 2017 in areas such as Kagoshima and Hokkaido, and are devoting our total capabilities to reconstruction efforts.Progress on reconstruction and revitalization underway in disaster-stricken regions
