At Kanamoto, sustainability at its core is to continuously improve the corporate value while also
contributing to the sustainable development of society.
We strive to help address the challenges faced by society through businesses centered upon the rental of
construction equipment. As climate change, human rights, and other global crises threaten humanity become more
prevalent in recent years, the United Nations Summit adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to
define
common targets for 2030 that should be achieved by the international society in September 2015. In addition,
COP 21 adopted the Paris Agreement in November 2016 as international rules to combat climate change. These are
some of many initiatives pursuing sustainability on a global scale. As Kanamoto engages in its businesses with
awareness of the SDGs, we have also signed on as a supporter of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial
Disclosures (TCFD) in July 2021.
In order to continually improve the corporate value of Kanamoto, we believe our Group must actively and
constructively address environmental and social sustainability issues. Therefore, Kanamoto formulated the
Sustainability Policy below to prepare a framework and system to put this philosophy into practice.
Basic Sustainability Policy
Everyone working in the Kanamoto Group will aim to build a foundation for sustainable growth, which is part of our Group Vision, and to contribute to the development of a sustainable society as a member and good corporate citizen of society.
- We will aim to help combat climate change and other global environmental issues by capitalizing on the unique sharing economy traits of a rental business.
- We will aim to help improve labor conditions throughout society by respecting human rights and consideration toward employee health and work environment.
- We will aim for sustainable and mutual prosperity by engaging in fair and proper business dealings with our partners.
- We will aim to enhance disaster prevention and mitigation and the national resilience of Japan as well as improve crisis management of natural disasters and other calamities as core principles of Kanamoto's crisis management.
To adapt to changes in society, Kanamoto holds the Sustainability Committee meetings regularly to present and
discuss various matters, such as the challenges we must face to realize a sustainable society as well as
progress and results of initiatives we undertake. The Committee then provides reports on these matters to the
Board of Directors. The Board of Directors guides the monitoring and supervision functions of directors
overseeing each issue based on these reports from the Sustainability Committee, checks on the progress and
direction of the reforms, and deliberates on important matters.
Kanamoto will more readily address social issues through its business with the hope of continuously improving
the corporate to live up to the expectations of all stakeholders.
