Message from the President

I am pleased to report on the operating activities of Kanamoto Co., Ltd. during the Business Period ended October 31, 2011, and discuss our policies for the future.

I would first like to express our sincere condolences to everyone who suffered losses as a result of the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, and our hopes for quick restoration and recovery.
Immediately after the earthquake, Kanamoto delivered support equipment and materials to Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima, the three prefectures that were the most extensively damaged. Over the subsequent months, we have continued to move large amounts of construction equipment and parts into these areas and have played a strong role in the restoration and recovery effort.
Since the earthquake, significant results have been accomplished by the construction industry, Kanamoto's main customer, not only in removing debris but also in leading the recovery of railways, roads, harbors and other infrastructure, and as the "actual workforce" for restoration and recovery, the industry is expected to play a key role in the months ahead.
Under such circumstances, the construction equipment rental industry bears an important obligation to single-handedly take up the mission of keeping the construction industry equipped. In the years to come as well, we will pursue our business with proud knowledge that "construction equipment rental is a critical social infrastructure."

In overseas operations, which we have positioned as an engine for medium to long-term growth, we will continue to concentrate on the expansion of Kanamoto's business in China and Singapore, and seek to expand earnings by working to reliably attract vigorous demand in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
