Response to the Great East Japan Earthquake

Continuing Kanamoto's support activities for a rapid restoration and recovery

Nearly one year has already passed since Japan's unprecedented natural disaster. While the stricken regions continue to face many difficulties, we firmly believe that, thanks to the actions of everyone in the local areas and the support activities provided by people throughout Japan, restoration is moving steadily forward. At Kanamoto as well, we are working to strengthen our support organization in a way that will be of help to everyone who is lending a hand. A quick look at the efforts undertaken by the Kanamoto Group so far in response to the earthquake is provided below.

Creation of a Task Force on the day of the earthquake

● March 11: Established a Tohoku Pacific Offshore Earthquake Task Force
● April 1: Great East Japan Earthquake Task Force (name change)

Rapid shift of assets to the stricken area from branches nationwide

● March 14: Transported generators, support materials etc. from Hokkaido
● March 16, 17, 20: Provided construction equipment that was in short supply
● March 19: Dispatched assistance teams from Hokkaido and Kansai
Note: Kanamoto has placed additional orders with construction equipment manufacturers to respond to demand following the earthquake.

Three branches established to support earthquake restoration and recovery works

● October 1, 2011: Kesennuma Branch (Kessanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture)
● December 1, 2011: Miyako Branch (Shimohei-gun, Iwate Prefecture)
● January 20, 2012: Kamaishi Branch (Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture)

Maintenance personnel dispatched from throughout Japan

Kanamoto has taken steps to strengthen its support organization, including the dispatch of maintenance staff from Kanamoto's branches throughout Japan as an assistance task force to handle maintenance of the construction equipment and machinery being used for the restoration effort.

Response to the Fukushima nuclear accident

Kanamoto is also working in response to the Fukushima nuclear accident, by providing construction equipment required for decontamination operations.

We will zealously maintain our efforts in the future to support the restoration and recovery effort in the stricken areas in the Tohoku and Kanto regions and respond to the Fukushima nuclear accident. We ask for your continued support.
